Rumours of a Ruinous Wall is a totally unique arts project, designed to give the voice of spectacle to young people in Sale. An exciting large-scale open-air performance against the backdrop of the Entertainment Centre, it follows the story of a fictional society who live near a wall that will, one day, fall down. Rumours of a Ruinous Wall explores our fears and dreams for the future -our responses, and our responsibility. cast from Jacaranda

Following on from last year’s success of Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me, Break a Leg Theatre is preparing for its next production The Jacaranda Tree. This modern Australian drama will be performed in Sale as part of the Water Water Festival.

The Jacaranda Tree is a moving story, which takes place in the surrounds of a rammed earth house, built around a beautiful Jacaranda Tree.  It tells the story of Rachel, Dan and their son Simon, whose peaceful existence is interrupted by the arrival of an old friend Richard.

The cast includes Jill McCubbin, a talent well known to Sale audiences and Dan Clancey, co-founder of Break a Leg.  These two experienced actors take on the challenging roles of husband and wife. The cast also includes Trafalgar drama teacher Steve Wiegerink and young actor Daniel Hartnell; both in their first roles with Break a Leg Theatre.

The Jacaranda Tree is written by Alex Broun who is one of Australia’s most talented playwrights.  Alex has close ties with the Gippsland theatre community, having recently run workshops in playwriting during the Gippsland Theatre Festival.  Over 30 of his plays have been produced in many different parts of the world.
